D403 is cognizant of the development, maintenance, and distribution of logistics technical data (LTD) for all submarine classes. LTD comprises of ship systems manuals, component technical manuals, steam and electric plant manuals, and maintenance and alteration documents.</p> <p>The selected candidate will provide technical guidance and oversight of new and modified LTD. They will ensure the quality of interactive electronic technical manuals and guarantee that products are prepared in accordance with published procedures and processes. The selected candidate will regularly interface with various EB Engineering disciplines, shipyard organizations, and the Navy customer to resolve or better understand technical and programmatic issues. As needed, the candidate will attend kickoff meetings, evaluate designs, and provide department man-hour estimates for manual updates or other products as appropriate. In addition, they will work with supervision to determine priorities, develop schedules, and manage work load. Selected candidate will recommend and implement process improvement initiatives, as appropriate.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of related experience and/or US naval nuclear experience </li><li>Experience with naval nuclear propulsion systems and operating procedures </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program </li><li>Qualified to be a Naval Nuclear Engineer or served as an Engineering Dept. Master Chief </li><li>A technical background in submarine systems and components and/or submarine operational experience is highly desired </li><li>Working knowledge of special emphasis programs (DSS-SOC, SUBSAFE, and Fly-by-Wire) requirements is desired </li><li>Working knowledge of submarine Logistics Technical Data (Ship System Manual, Technical Manuals, etc) is desired </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work. </li><li>Ability to direct others to accomplish tasks is required. </li></ul>
