<p>Department Overview</p> <p>This position provides technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, computer order</p> <p>entry, and coordination of patient care. Home infusion technicians working this shift are responsible for</p> <p>ensuring accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures in home infusion pharmacy. Position</p> <p>works under direct supervision of a Pharmacist who is responsible for the safe and proper distribution of</p> <p>medication to home infusion patients.</p> <p>Function/Duties of Position</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate refill processing and deliveries to ensure consistent medication and equipment supply for Home Infusion patients. </li><li>Assist pharmacist through performance of computer order entry of outpatient orders and filling unit dose medication orders. </li><li>Assist in inventory management by ensuring current Pharmacy inventory in line with expected need based on upcoming referrals and refill schedule. </li><li>Coordinate patient care by answering telephone, filing, medication profile update and maintenance </li><li>Assist Pharmacist in obtaining necessary documentation including laboratory results, chart notes, etc. </li><li>Tracking of deliveries en route to ensure patients receive medication and supplies in a timely manner. </li><li>Perform other technician duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma,</p> </li><li> <p>Active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License AND</p> </li><li> <p>1 year of pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education; AND</p> </li><li> <p>Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Health career Association. Certification must be maintained.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess computer keyboarding skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and understand medical- related terms. - </li><li>Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills </li><li>Knowledge of commonly used computer programs including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li><li>Ability to establish priorities in workflow. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Formal pharmacy technician training program </li><li>Home Infusion Pharmacy experience </li><li>Medical and scientific nomenclature </li></ul> <p>Additional Details</p> <p>Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and noise. Flexibility in scheduling of shift times.
