Sherlock Center on Disabilities is seeking to hire a full-time Technical Assistance Specialist to join an established team of Early Intervention project staff to support RI's Early Intervention Agencies, providers, and the children and families they serve. Individuals in this position collaborate with the Early Intervention Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator and with the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services to conduct ongoing needs assessments, provide targeted technical assistance, and professional development to individuals who work in Early Intervention and other related programs.</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Assist the Sherlock Center Early Intervention Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator to provide training and technical assistance to Rhode Island Early Intervention Service Providers.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Early Intervention Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator and with the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services to conduct ongoing needs assessment; </li><li>Collaborate with Early Intervention Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator and with the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services to provide targeted technical assistance to the Early Intervention system; </li><li>Develop technical assistance plans for specific disability areas such as vision, hearing, autism, and infant mental health; </li><li>Serve as Early Intervention liaison to various community and specialty providers; </li><li>Develop training curricula and technical assistance materials; </li><li>Implement training and technical assistance activities to EI and other State programs; </li><li>Participate in other Sherlock Center work groups and activities as requested by the Executive Director. </li></ul> <p>Occasional Duties</p> <p>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</p> <p>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of RI Early Intervention system. </li><li>Knowledge of child development. </li><li>Knowledge of family supports and family resources available in RI. </li><li>Effective writing and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate's Degree in Early Childhood, Family Studies, or a related field. </li><li>Five years of experience as an Early Intervention service provider, parent consultant, or other related position and a minimum of 3 years as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Life experience with individuals with disabilities and/or their families. </li><li>Experience in implementing Early Childhood evaluation and assessment tools. </li><li>Experience developing and implementing learning management systems. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <p>The employee is not exposed to known adverse environmental conditions.</p>
