<p>The South Shore Charter Public School inspires students to achieve their potential in academics, arts, sciences, career and life. This is accomplished with an innovative curriculum that addresses the learning styles of the individual student, complemented by a real-life experiential learning program within a community that encourages service, leadership and respect. South Shore Charter Public School is a K-12 public charter school located in Norwell, MA that educates 1,165 students from twenty-six South Shore communities. The South Shore Charter Public School is seeking a full time School Psychologist..</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Student Services Evaluation and Assessment: Provide comprehensive testing in the areas of suspected disability for all student initial and reevaluations within the time frame set by DESE. Coordinate "consent to forms" for the Learning Services Department. Through observation and teacher reports, develop an understanding of child's functioning within the classroom setting. Meet with parents, teachers, and administrators to integrate school and home information, to formulate recommendations for appropriate program decisions, and to assist school staff in understanding how to support students. Help the student understand and cope with information about their learning style and any changes occurring in the educational program. Write comprehensive reports and present data from testing to student's parent/guardians and the IEP team at IEP/504 meetings. Participate in Team meeting and chair Team meetings when requested by the Director of Learning Services.</p> <p>Counseling Provide individual and/or group counseling to students on school related issues at all school levels. Provide direct service for individuals identified through Individual Learning Programs (IEP) and 504 Accommodation Plans. Engage in group or individual counseling with "at risk" students. Provide social skills training to students as well as follow up consultation with their teachers and families. Coordinate services with Pupil Adjustment Counselors and guidance counselors.</p> <p>General Support the diversity of the student population through cultural and family engagement and the inclusion of diverse learners throughout the school. Provide training to the SSCPS faculty and families, as needed. Provide information and support to teachers on the inclusion of students with disabilities. Act as a consultant to staff and participate in student identification procedures. Assist with the completion of functional behavior assessments and manifestation determination meetings. Member of the Crisis Team Assist in the development of procedures for use in management of school or community crisis situations. Help guide the process of assisting students to cope with crises. Attend Student Support Team meetings, as needed. Stay current with testing procedures/protocols and changes to DSM. Assist with Program Quality Assurance audits. Participate in DESE hearings or mediations as needed. Any additional duties requested by the Director of Student Services</p>
