Primary responsibilities include the management of all faculty hiring and faculty advancement, management of all scholarship decisions and disbursements, supervision of all part-time office student and non-student staff, management of External Relationships, and event planning.</p> <p>What you'll do in this position:</p> <ul> <li>Provide strategic and administrative support for 18 full-time faculty members in the Department of Dance as requested by the Chair </li><li>Manage the Department of Dance office and provide executive-level coordination for all departmental meetings, including developing agendas for the Executive Committee and managing strategic scheduling needs. </li><li>Oversee the maintenance of course offerings in the university catalog and manages the scheduling of all instructional spaces. </li><li>Oversee departmental data reporting, including maintaining analytics related to student progress, demographics, and program health. </li><li>Manage departmental external relations strategy by identifying, tracking, and communicating stories to College External Relations. </li><li>Advise faculty candidates throughout the rank and status process, establishing timelines, clarifying expectations, and ensuring alignment with university policy. </li><li>Collaborate with the Executive Committee and Rank and Status Committee to identify and secure qualified external reviewers. </li><li>Lead the hiring processes for full-time and adjunct faculty by partnering with faculty and leadership to develop and post job descriptions that reflect departmental priorities and university standards. </li><li>Drive the onboarding process for all new faculty, ensuring a consistent and professional transition into the department. </li><li>Provide strategic leadership over all student financial awards by evaluating applications and determining recipients of departmental scholarships, grants, and awards. </li></ul> <p>What qualifies you for this role:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years experience in secretarial, office administrative, small business management, dance management, or related work </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to be detail-oriented </li><li>Self-motivated and an ability to work without direct supervision </li><li>Comfortable working in a busy, often noisy environment </li><li>Ability to manage multiple schedules, anticipate needs, and set up reminders of deadlines and action items </li><li>Advanced writing and editing skills </li><li>Basic accounting skills </li><li>Type at least 60 wpm with accurate spelling </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) </li><li>Proficiency in Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides, and Google Drive management </li><li>Basic accounting and financial management </li><li>Proficiency at scheduling and managing multiple, overlapping calendars </li><li>Successful personnel management, including conflict resolution, with a wide range of personnel, including students. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Working knowledge of FERPA regulations </li><li>Familiarity with workday, AIM, Y Train, Box, etc. </li><li>Experience with desktop publishing </li><li>Experience with dance, media or other related areas </li></ul> <p>What we offer in return:</p> <p>In addition to our competitive pay structure, this position comes with fantastic benefits, including:</p> <ul> <li>401k.
