<p>The Planning Specialist is a professional who plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Their responsibilities are key to supporting the operations planning and scheduling team.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Execute planning report based on direction from Material Planner. </li><li>Assist in expediting and de-expediting work orders and purchase orders. </li><li>Release work orders and purchase orders to preferred/approved suppliers. </li><li>Collaborate with purchasing in the evaluation of current/approved suppliers. </li><li>Maintain positive communications with internal/external "customers" for raw materials, finished goods, supplies, and services (Customer Service, Suppliers, Inter-plant, operations, etc.). </li><li>Manage inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers and internal traffic department. </li><li>Assure proper approval, accounting, and processing controls are maintained. </li><li>Review and close work orders. </li><li>Inventory and interplant receiving. </li><li>Manage material issues to work order. </li><li>Inventory counting. </li><li>Manage/prepare shipment information. </li><li>Prepare metric data and daily information reports. </li><li>Prepare shop packets. </li><li>Involvement in continual improvement efforts. </li><li>Various administrative duties and JD Edwards/supporting system transaction processing. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High School or GED required, Associates degree in operation/supply chain or business preferred. </li><li>At least one year of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferred. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to handle simultaneous tasks under pressure. </li><li>Analytical and math skills. </li><li>Familiarity and working knowledge of quality systems. </li><li>Committed to lifelong education. </li><li>Proven track record as a team player. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Customer focused. </li><li>Sense of self accountability. </li><li>High level of professionalism. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially pivot tables, xlookups, etc.) </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/DIRECT REPORTS</p> <p>None.</p> <p>TRAVEL</p> <p>None.</p> <p>VOLLRATH'S CORE VALUES</p> <p>Take Ownership: Our intention is to match our actions with our words, building trust with others.
