<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The City of St. Peters is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support daily operations at Recycle City, with strong experience with the operation of wheel loaders and skid-steer loaders Under general supervision, this position performs skilled labor in the handling, baling, and movement of recyclable materials. The role requires consistent physical effort, sound judgment in problem-solving, and occasional interaction with the public.</p> <p>Normal Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; some weekends required.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Operate light- to medium-duty forklifts and skid-steer loaders, as well as mid-size articulated wheel-loaders. </li><li>Perform baling operations and material handling tasks with attention to safety and quality. </li><li>Continuously load in-bound recyclables into drum-feeder charge box. </li><li>Conduct visual quality control of bales to reduce contamination. </li><li>Load outgoing recyclable commodities into trailers. </li><li>Perform routine equipment servicing and minor repairs; report major issues. </li><li>Maintain accurate records related to bale counts, outgoing materials, and housekeeping inspections. </li><li>Assist with on-the-job training in equipment operation, safety practices, and work methods. </li><li>Address resident and customer concerns in the Recycle City Drop-Off Area. </li><li>Follow all established City safety procedures and standards. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker. </li><li>High School graduate or GED certificate. </li><li>Must have a Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri. </li><li>One (1) year of applicable experience. </li><li>Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us Join a team that takes pride in supporting sustainability and public service.
