This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across our buildings, grounds, classrooms, kitchens, and common area spaces. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, refilling dispensers, and maintaining floors with consistent and excellent cleanliness. The janitor will also operate and maintain a variety of cleaning equipment, wash windows and walls, move office/classroom furniture and kitchen equipment as needed, and perform deep cleaning duties in alignment with the academic calendar to ensure our facilities are always in pristine condition. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can work independently, and demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills, with a good knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors, students, staff, and faculty.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>? Clean and sanitize restrooms and all common areas</p> <p>? Clean, dust, and wipe all furniture and kitchen appliances, equipment and surfaces</p> <p>? Empty and sanitize trash and other containers as needed</p> <p>? Refill restroom dispensers and maintain supplies and associated inventory</p> <p>? Regular maintenance of flooring; vacuum and shampoo regularly</p> <p>? Use and maintain assigned power equipment such as vacuums, brooms, mops for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.</p> <p>? Lock and unlock doors and windows to ensure facilities are kept safe when not in use</p> <p>? Maintain appropriate use of chemicals and cleaning/sanitization supplies</p> <p>? Perform removal of snow and/or debris from sidewalks on a daily basis</p> <p>? Move furniture, equipment on a regular basis to identify cleaning opportunities</p> <p>? Must be able to stoop, knell, crouch and crawl, bending, stretching, pushing and pulling. Must have ability to move objects weighing up to 5o lbs occasionally. Standing 90% of the time. May have to complete some cleaning tasks in a kneeling position. Some tasks may require vigorous, repetitive movements. Must be able to grip a broom, mop, etc. Must be able to hold squirt bottles and cleaning rags. Must be able to make circular hand movements to scrub walls and windows. Must be able to tolerate loud noises such as vacuums and floor polishers.
