<p>POSITION: Digital Audio and Video Production Teacher</p> <p>LOCATION: Worcester Technical High School</p> <p>ABOUT THE SCHOOL:</p> <p>Worcester Technical High School is a vibrant, innovative learning community committed to providing students with a comprehensive education that equips them with the skills and knowledge required for successful careers in today's rapidly changing world. Our programs emphasize hands-on learning, real-world experience, and industry-specific training. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Audio and Video Production Teacher to join our team.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Digital Audio and Video Production teacher will play a key role in educating and preparing students for careers in the multimedia and music industry, combining music and video with technical skills. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in industry-standard software and equipment, audio engineering, sound design, video editing, and audio and video production. They will be able to engage students in project-based learning, while providing a supportive and stimulating learning environment. They will develop and deliver lessons that cover a wide range of topics, from music theory to AVID Pro Tools, Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premier Pro, video production technique, and more.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans, aligned with district and state CTE, music, and media arts standards incorporating a variety of interactive media concepts and techniques, that meet the needs of diverse learners. </li><li>Ability to prepare students for state-approved Digital Audio and Video Production industry-recognized credentials and administer the assessments. </li><li>Implement hands-on, project-based learning experiences that enable students to develop skills in digital music, audio and sound engineering, and video technologies. </li><li>Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adapt instructional strategies to improve student learning outcomes. </li><li>Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with industry trends. </li><li>Serve as an advisor and mentor to students, providing guidance on career opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, college credits and further education in the Digital Music and Video Production field. </li><li>Assist in the development and evaluation of the Digital Audio and Video Production curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with industry standards. </li><li>Actively participate in school events, meetings, and committees as required. </li><li>Maintain effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, community partners, and others having business with the school district. </li><li>Develop and lead a Program Advisory Committee (PAC) to include representation from Digital Audio and Video related employers, secondary-education partners, and post-secondary education partners. PACs will meet at least twice annually and be a primary influence on program content. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration and/or Coordinator of CTE. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Media Arts, Music Technology, Interactive Media, or related field; technology skills/certification and a Master's degree is preferred. </li><li>A valid Maryland teaching certification, or willingness to work toward completing the MD teacher licensure requirements. </li><li>A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in music and/or media arts preferred but not required. </li><li>Proficiency with Apple products (macbooks, imac, ipad, etc.) </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in digital media tools and software, such as Avid Pro Tools, Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Creative Suite, Media Composer and Sibelius. </li><li>Ability to accept specialized teaching assignments that may require additional training and/or certification. </li><li>Strong knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in music and media arts. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively engage with diverse groups of students. </li><li>Passion for teaching and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. </li></ul> <p>APPLICATION PROCEDURE:</p> <ul> <li>Each candidate meeting the employment qualifications for the Digital Audio and Video Production position must submit an internal application available on our website at worcesterk12.org. </li><li>Please upload a letter of interest that addresses the essential functions of the position along with a résumé. </li><li>Applications received by the vacancy announcement deadline will be prescreened. </li><li>The selected applicants will be invited for an interview. </li></ul> <p>If you have any questions or require assistance in completing the online application, please contact Debbie Powell at 410-632-5120 or email us at wcpshr@worcesterk12.org.</p> <p>If accommodations are needed for the interview, they will be provided with an advance request.</p> <p>This position will be opened until filled.</p> <p>The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all applicants, re-advertise and / or withdraw the position.</p> <p>The Worcester County Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
