<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Provide medically prescribed physical rehabilitation therapy to athletes through CAMC's Sports Medicine Program. Provide medical coverage during various athletic events.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs for athletes. Advance therapy exercise as needed. Must have rehabilitation skills; protocol knowledge; "hands-on knowledge". </li><li>Perform therapy treatments such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and elecentericity for the effective rehabilitation of an athletic injury. Protocol knowledge, PAD Placement, US Head Movement. </li><li>Assist the provider in diagnosing and prognosis of muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests during clinic hours. Perform special tests, see deviations or potential problems. </li><li>Assist the provider in act/pass exercise, muscle re-education techniques, rooming patients, developing and monitoring home exercise programs, and bracing. </li><li>Perform adjustments to fabricate athletic gear for protection of athletic injuries. Provide athletic tape procedures as needed. Measure/fit functional knee braces. </li><li>Distribute inventory orthopedic soft goods such as equipment, materials, and supplies. </li><li>Assist in formulating and participating in preseason screens, recreational sport screens, and Sports Medicine Clinics with area recreational and scholastic programs. </li><li>Provide athletic coverage for various public sports events. On-field evaluations, ability to see and react quickly. </li><li>Act as a liaison between CAMC and area athletic trainers/coaches. Able to perform duties with other trainers. </li><li>Provide daily supervision to athletic training students. </li><li>Perform advanced mathematical calculations and statistical analysis. </li><li>Perform special tests and assessment of patient. </li><li>Assist in the formulation of educational seminars for area athletic trainers and coaches. </li><li>Visit various schools providing consulting services and recruiting for the CAMC Sports Medicine Center. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)</p> <p>The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
