<p>JOB FUNCTION:</p> <p>The Human Resources Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations for a multi-state grocery retail organization. This role will perform a variety of HR tasks and activities including but not limited to compliance, recruitment, HRIS and employee leave administration. The ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of multi-state HR compliance, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as primary point of contact for employee leave administration, including communication and coordination with employees, managers and third-party administrators </li><li>Educate managers and employees on leave policies and responsibilities </li><li>Manage unemployment claims across multiple states, including responses, documentation, appeals, and participation in hearings as required </li><li>Conduct wage and hour audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws </li><li>Assist with HR compliance initiatives and documentation </li><li>Support recruitment activities for retail locations, including job postings, coordination, and hiring process support </li><li>Review and evaluate criminal background check results in accordance with company policy and applicable laws; communicate decisions to appropriate personnel </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HR systems and personnel files </li><li>Generate reports and support audits as needed </li><li>Draft, review, and distribute internal HR communications and employee announcements </li><li>Promote cross-functional collaboration between various departments </li><li>Provide HR support to employees and leaders across the organization </li><li>Assist with various HR projects and initiatives </li><li>Stay current on changing employment laws and HR best practices, particularly in retail and multi-state environments </li><li>All other duties or projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a closely related field or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities </li><li>Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices </li><li>Experience supporting employee leave administration and compliance activities </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills </li><li>Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Demonstrated customer service mindset with the ability to build trust and credibility </li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment </li><li>Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion </li><li>Ability to travel within the operational footprint as needed </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years progressive related experience, preferably in retail or multi-location, multi-state environments </li><li>Experience with child labor laws and minor employment regulations </li><li>HR certification </li><li>EOE </li></ul>
