Join us and be a part of a world-class team that's shaping the future of packaging.</p> <p>The Opportunity</p> <p>The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance operations using precision and preventative maintenance to maximize plant and production equipment uptime. In this role, you will be a servant leader impacting the development of craftsmen by providing coaching to ensure adherence to preferred maintenance practices to maximize efficiency and safety.</p> <p>This position is located at the Springfield, MA Corrugated sheet facility.</p> <p>How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock</p> <ul> <li>Assist and provide direction to craftsmen of troubleshooting equipment to mitigate downtime </li><li>Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget </li><li>Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices </li><li>Oversee craftsmen's compliance with corporate, division, plant safety and environmental rules and procedures </li><li>Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the plant </li><li>Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals by effectively leading craftsmen to align objectives </li><li>Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities </li><li>Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees </li><li>Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics </li></ul> <p>What You Need To Succeed</p> <ul> <li>2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline or related work experience - Required. </li><li>3+ years of maintenance supervisory leadership experience within the packaging industry-Required. </li><li>3+ years of Mechanical or Electrical maintenance experience - Required. </li><li>Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors, gear boxes); strong proficiency with PLCs, servos, and automation alongside standard mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems </li><li>Safety mindset with thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures </li><li>Initiative to solve problems and take independent action. </li><li>Great communication with the ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization; active listener, essential when receiving operator feedback and diagnosing issues before they lead to machine failure </li><li>Able to exhibit a 'can-do' approach and inspire others to excel; lead by example </li><li>Must be organized with great time management to manage multiple priorities </li><li>Elevated troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex machine malfunctions under pressure </li></ul> <p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by state or federal law.</p> <p>The salary range for this position is $76,875.00 - $128,125.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
