<p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>Harris-Stowe State University is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as the Urban Policing Program Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in managing and enhancing programs under the Urban Policing Program. The idea candidate will have a solid background in public safety, law enforcement, or a related field, and a strong commitment to fostering community relationships and implementing innovative policing strategies.</p> <p>The Coordinator serves as a key assistant to the Director of Urban Policing, supporting administrative functions, maintaining Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) compliant records, tracking program data and metrics, and managing training schedules and special initiatives.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Organize training programs and initiatives for the Urban Policing Program. </li><li>Assist with the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) compliance and documentation. </li><li>Maintain detailed calendar of events for Urban Policing programs and initiatives; Arranges schedules, travel itineraries, and conference attendance. </li><li>Support budget maintenance by tracking expenditures and revenues. </li><li>Monitor and report data for the Urban Policing Program. </li><li>Assists with grant writing and securing funding for program sustainability and expansion. </li><li>Orders supplies, equipment, and other resources as directed. </li><li>Coordinates with the Director of Urban Policing for continuing instructor staffing and scheduling </li><li>Prepares training manuals and instructional learning resources for program participants. </li><li>Organize training sessions, workshops, and seminars for students, faculty and staff, and community members. </li><li>Serves as the point of contact in the Director's absence. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, instructors, campus community, and community constituents. </li><li>Experience coordinating training programs for peace officers and public safety personnel. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software (e.g., Excel, Word). </li><li>Familiarity with Missouri POST training and documentation standards. </li><li>Ability to secure facilities for on- and off-campus training events. </li><li>Skilled in preparing detailed reports and presentations for diverse audiences. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. </li><li>Bend, reach, carry, and lift up to 30 lbs. as necessary to perform assignments, carry equipment, etc. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of three (3) years in public safety, law enforcement, public administration, or related fields. </li><li>Demonstrated experience working with law enforcement and public safety partners. </li><li>Ability to collect, manage, and analyze program data to ensure compliance with POST documentation standards. </li><li>Experience in fast-paced environments with a focus on efficiency and compliance. </li><li>Ability to manage social media platforms for program outreach and recruitment. </li><li>Willingness to receive constructive feedback for continuous program improvement. </li><li>Experience leading recruitment for law enforcement academies or continuing education programs. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, communications, or related fields. </li><li>Previous experience in an academic or training environment. </li><li>Proven track record of securing grants or funding sources. </li></ul>
