<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - Linux in Cincinnati, OH.</p> <p>Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on Linux systems to join our team. The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. This role requires collaboration with various teams, including IT, development, and operations, to support and enhance our infrastructure.</p> <p>Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Manage and maintain Linux-based systems ensuring their reliability, performance, and security </li><li>Manage and maintain a set of tools such as Ansible and Shell Scripting </li><li>Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance </li><li>Collaborate with development and operations teams to support and enhance the infrastructure </li><li>Implement and maintain security best practices for Linux systems </li><li>Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes </li><li>Apply conflict resolution skills to resolve infrastructure issues daily </li><li>Manage infrastructure risk, develop mitigation plans, and escalate decisions and unresolved issues daily </li><li>Work with peers to develop and drive goals, define technical specifications, and detailed implementation plans for infrastructure projects </li><li>Effectively apply skills to impact infrastructure decisions </li><li>Focus on the benefits to be realized and the outcomes to be achieved* Experience working with leading stakeholder groups, including technical, product, business, and vendor teams </li><li>Experience with Linux system administration and engineering </li><li>Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud </li><li>Experience with VMware </li><li>Proven track record of managing and maintaining Linux-based systems </li><li>Ability to anticipate and manage infrastructure risks and issues with full transparency </li><li>Confident, solution-oriented independent worker </li><li>Self-starter with a 'learn and apply' attitude in an intense, fast-paced environment </li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills </li><li>Must be able to work independently while managing different sets of business, technology, and vendor stakeholders </li><li>Proven problem-solving and organizational skills </li><li>Demonstrated ability in team motivation and delegation </li><li>Local to Cincinnati region will be given preference </li><li>Some travel to the technical center may be required during critical deployments </li></ul> <p>Highly Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Linux tools such as Ansible </li><li>AIX and GPFS/Storage Scale experience </li></ul>
