In collaboration with Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia and Integrated Anesthesia Associates' Nurse Anesthesia Program of Hartford, our DNAP provides a practice-based doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia that enables critical care registered nurses to become either certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) or, for those possessing a master's degree, to acquire a doctoral degree. Our program prepares practitioners to become leaders and experts in anesthesia care by providing a curriculum that includes an expanded understanding of evidence-based medicine, advanced sciences, bioethics, healthcare policy, and patient safety.</p> <p>For more information about the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Program please visit DNAP.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The successful candidate will have the responsibility of teaching classes at the doctoral level in the DNAP program, as well as participating in the evaluation of DNAP doctoral scholarly projects. Incumbents will also be expected to participate in curricular development and evaluation of program learning outcomes, engage in scholarly activities (presentations and publications), and maintain clinical practice. In addition, they will be expected to engage in service through active participation on committee's at the professional, departmental, and university level.</p> <p>For more information on AAUP conditions of employment please visit AAUP.</p> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education: All applicants must possess an advanced degree in one of the following (The completion of doctorate is required by time of appointment.):</p> <ul> <li>DNAP, DNP, or PhD </li><li>Anesthesiologist with MD or DO. </li></ul> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <ul> <li>Active licensure to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing or MD license in the state of Connecticut. </li><li>Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with DNAP, DNP, or Ph.D.; or Anesthesiologist with MD or DO. </li><li>Current certification or recertification as a CRNA or Anesthesiologist with at least one year of full- time clinical activity. </li><li>Clinical teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia program within the last ten years. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants with the following:</p> <ul> <li>Clinical competency as demonstrated by at least 6 months of practice as CRNA or Anesthesiologist by time of appointment. </li><li>College-level teaching experience in programs leading to degrees in Nurse Anesthesia within the last two (2) years. </li><li>Experience with current technology that enhances student learning experiences such as simulation, virtual reality, and other active learning modalities. </li><li>Teaching experience that includes all aspects of preparation and full course responsibilities for entire academic term, i.e., experience beyond teaching assistantships and guest lectures. </li><li>Experience in distance learning as instructor and course designer. </li><li>Experience with program assessment </li></ul> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by July 17, 2025.</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
