<p>Provide direct nursing care by administering long-acting injections to patients with a behavioral health disorder based on a systematized body of knowledge. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, families, employees, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and request the assistance of the RN when necessary. Ability to multi-task, display decision-making and critical thinking skills, and basic computer skills.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>Psychiatric health care setting within outpatient settings. Fast-paced team approach. Multi-tasking, requiring above-average time management skills.</p> <p>FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:</p> <ul> <li>Assess the physiological, psychosocial, and environmental needs of patients and report findings to the Registered Nurse. </li><li>Implement the plan of care based on nursing standards and practice. </li><li>Evaluate the appropriateness of nursing interventions defined in the plan of care. </li><li>Ensure accurate and complete required documentation to be approved by a Registered Nurse. </li><li>Demonstrate competency in critical thinking and decision-making skills and involve a Registered Nurse when required. </li><li>Monitor staff and continuous workflow of the program. </li><li>Share professional and technical knowledge in accordance with policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Shift varies; daytime only</p>
