<p>If you are an existing employee of South Shore Health then please apply through the internal career site.</p> <p>Requisition Number:</p> <p>R-19566</p> <p>Facility:</p> <p>LOC0001 - 55 Fogg Road55 Fogg Road Weymouth, MA 02190</p> <p>Department Name:</p> <p>SSH Imaging MRI</p> <p>Status:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Budgeted Hours:</p> <p>36</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Varied Shifts (United States of America)</p> <p>Participates in technical duties directly involved with the M.R.I. including developing, initiating and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ol> <li>Maintains equipment by performing daily Q.A. procedures. </li></ol> <p>a. Maintains equipment by daily cleaning and between cases or as needed..</p> <p>b. Notes any system problems to departmental supervisory personnel.</p> <p>c. Contacts service engineers, or "iLinq' for problematic situations as they may occur.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Sets up and adjusts equipment per Radiologist. </li></ol> <p>a. Sets up appropriate equipment (coils, injector, monitors and etc.).</p> <p>b. Sets up work station control console settings to exam parameters/</p> <p>protocols to produce the most optimum results</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling, special requirements and safety screening . Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested. Assesses patient needs proper handling. </li></ol> <p>a. Goes to waiting room, dressing rooms and corridors to accept patient.</p> <p>b. Explains procedure to patients to prepare them for the examination.</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Assists or directly performs the administration of various chemical substances </li></ol> <p>in order to render specific organs or structures more viable during MRI</p> <p>procedures.</p> <p>a. Prepares the appropriate contrast agents by dosage chart specifications.</p> <p>b. Performs and monitors IV access.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Reviews patient charts and will discuss with the Radiologist as appropriate to assure the proper examination and that any additional sequences are prescribed to ensure the most optimum diagnostic results are obtained </li></ol> <p>a. Communicates with patient units to assure timely transport and completion of exam request.</p> <p>b. Prepares Images and paperwork for Radiology Interpretation.</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Quality controls all images, maintains inventory and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students. </li></ol> <p>a. Checks inventory of contrast, IV supplies and paper products daily. Notifies the Department supervisor of needs.</p> <p>b. Adheres to safety regulations for both patient and employee safety.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts and habitus. </li></ol> <p>a. Reviews exam request to determine area of interest.</p> <p>b. Refers to exam guidelines and protocols for necessary sequences</p> <p>and exam parameters.</p> <p>c. Uses practical knowledge of anatomy for proper positioning of patient</p> <p>and equipment to obtain maximum diagnostic information as evidenced</p> <p>by the images produced.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Safety Awareness - Fosters a "Culture of Safety" through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment. </li></ol> <p>a. Prior to the start of any invasive procedures, a final verification to confirm the correct patient, procedure, site, and information is done.</p> <p>b. Verifies patient according to policy prior to administration of care/procedures/medications.</p> <p>c. Follows approved procedure for verifying MD orders including a verbal readback to the licensed independent practitioner after receiving a telephone order.</p> <p>d. Complies with the current CDC hand hygiene guidelines through proper hand washing, as observed by nurse manager and peers.</p> <p>e. Consistently follows the South Shore Hospital policy to mark surgical sites.</p> <p>f. Makes appropriate use of personal protective equipment at all times.</p> <p>g. Adheres to respiratory etiquette guidelines.</p> <p>h. Adheres to universal precautions.</p> <p>i. Appropriately disposes of hazardous materials.</p> <p>j. Adheres to electrical safety guidelines.</p> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Minimum Education - Preferred</p> <p>Preferred formal training in Radiology Technology of AMA approved program.</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <p>Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic experience.</p> <p>Some MRI experience preferred.</p> <p>Required Licenses / Registrations</p> <p>MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) - American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or</p> <p>MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)</p> <p>Required Classes/Skills</p> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) "OR" BLS Instructor (AHA) within 180 days of hire</p> <p>E/O Saturday & Sunday, 630a-7p, Mondays 630a-7p and Fridays 630a-7p, hours are negotiable.
