<p>The Sr. Manager, Digital Design reports to the Sr. Director, Product Management and plays a key role in shaping and delivering client-centric digital experiences across the organization's portfolio of retirement and custody products. This role blends strategic design leadership with hands-on execution-leveraging user experience (UX) research, modern design methods, and cross-functional collaboration to create intuitive, elegant, and scalable digital solutions.</p> <p>The Sr. Manager Digital Design contributes to product vision, evolves design standards, mentors designers, and partners closely with Product, Technology, Marketing, and stakeholders across the business to ensure cohesive, user-centered experiences. This role is responsible for translating complex business requirements and user insights into thoughtful designs, prototypes, and frameworks that support both customer satisfaction and business outcomes.</p> <ul> <li>Strategic Thinking: Help drive strategy by conducting product and competitive research while providing quick and clear value add to the business. </li><li>Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, marketing, and engineering, to ensure effective coordination and integration of design efforts. </li><li>User-Centric Design: Champion user-centered design principles and methodologies, conducting user research, testing, and feedback analysis to inform design decisions and improve the overall customer experience. </li><li>Quality Assurance: Implement design review processes to maintain high-quality standards, conducting regular audits and assessments of design outputs to ensure alignment with established guidelines and objectives. </li><li>Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including executives and clients, to understand their needs and perspectives, and effectively communicate design strategies and outcomes. </li><li>Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, incorporating them into our products and services. </li><li>Operational Excellence: Ensure workflow efficiency and alignment with Agile cycles, support creation of modern, client-focused digital solutions, and establish and track KPIs tied to design quality and usability. </li></ul> <p>People Leader Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manages a team of 3 </li><li>Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff. </li><li>Oversees the daily workflow of the department. </li><li>Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Identify areas for development and create plans to enhance team members' skills. </li><li>Uniformly identify high performers who consistently produce quality work. </li><li>Remove barriers for the team, ensuring team members have all the tools, resources, and context to execute. </li><li>Has a good understanding of their team's strengths and opportunities, capitalizing on their strengths and coaching opportunities. </li><li>Address challenges and conflicts that arise within the team or projects. Make decisions that balance various factors and contribute to the overall success of the organization. </li><li>Cultivate relationships with clients, partners, and other departments to facilitate collaboration and achieve common goals. </li><li>Provide direction, guidance, and support to a team of employees. Set clear expectations, delegate tasks, and ensure effective communication within the team. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <p>Minimum required:</p> <ul> <li>7-10 years of digital product design experience </li><li>Experience in financial services preferred </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Interactive Media, Human-Centered Design, or related field </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision) </li><li>Strong understanding of user-centered design and usability </li><li>Experience conducting or collaborating in user research </li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Typical schedule is [Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM CT; ability to work evening or weekend hours may be required during peak periods]</p> </li><li> <p>Employees within a 90-minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters are required to adhere to Company in-office work guidelines of 4 days per month minimum from 10 am to 2 pm (1 of the 4 days must be a Monday or Friday)</p> </li><li> <p>[Occasional/Frequent travel (up to 10%)]</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide personal transportation for training or meetings may be required</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Prolonged periods of sitting and operating standard office equipment</p> </li></ul> <p>LI-Remote</p>
