Based in Bixby, OK you'll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing and day-to-day activities on an assigned shift. This position typically holds or is working towards an intermediate level water/wastewater treatment certification.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent </li><li>Reports operating problems to lead operator or supervisor and performs directed corrective action during assigned shift </li><li>Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels </li><li>Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine process adjustment requirements. </li><li>Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control </li><li>Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes </li><li>Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings </li><li>Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses </li><li>Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties </li><li>Understands and carries out oral and written directions </li><li>Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work </li><li>Daily and punctual attendance in the office and/or job site or off-site locations is required </li><li>This position required to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies and must live within 30 minutes of the facility to meet contractual response obligations. </li><li>Travel between work locations is required. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together.</p> <p>#OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted</p> <p>Here's what you'll need</p> <ul> <li>Possession of a valid Driver's License </li><li>Must have an Oklahoma C level wastewater certification at a level required by the State in which the project is located </li><li>12 months experience with a State approved D level Wastewater certification </li></ul> <p>Ideally, here's what you will also have:</p> <ul> <li>Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes; safe work practices </li><li>Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC's and SCADA systems </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
