<p>Posting End Date:</p> <p>September 02, 2025</p> <p>Employee Type:</p> <p>Regular-Full time</p> <p>Union/Non:</p> <p>This is a non-union position</p> <p>The Supervisor - Gas Operations role will be to supervise employees and contractors engaged in the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, repair and restoration of natural gas distribution facilities, project and resource management, customer involvement and monitoring of work. Ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of natural gas distribution facilities and equipment. Ensures accurate work methods are applied and safety precautions are followed. Resolves customer complaints. Advises and assists in technical training and development of employees. Communicates across multifaceted teams to complete tasks and resolve issues. This role may act as a liaison with public officials, landowners, regulatory personnel, contractors and company employees. Administers and adheres to company policies. Monitors budgets, goals and employee productivity.</p> <p>This position will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees operating or maintenance personnel in either an operational area of the pipeline system or over a support related group of employees that perform work throughout the pipeline system. </li><li>Provides technical support in the design of natural gas gathering and transmission systems through project planning, designing, drafting, fabrication, construction and as-built records. </li><li>Provides support for all functions related to the design, development, implementation, configuration, analysis, reporting and maintenance of specialized ESRI-based software applications used by engineering personnel for maintaining pipeline records in GIS systems and producing map and data outputs for the operation and maintenance of distribution and High Pressure systems. </li><li>Oversees employees engaged in the fabrication, construction, operation, and maintenance of the high pressure gas distribution system. </li><li>Develops, implements and coordinates training of Gas Operations employees. </li><li>Provides support and coordinates corrosion and cathodic protection operation functions. </li></ul> <p>Who you are:</p> <p>5+ years of directly related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 7+ years directly related experience with an Associate's degree</p> <ul> <li>Full knowledge of pipeline distribution system; construction work methods; maintenance and repair; operations guidelines; cost analysis; customer service; essential computer skills. </li><li>Knowledge of operations of the assigned area: operations training, high-pressure construction, pre-construction, dispatch, meter reading, technical service and/or construction, etc. </li><li>Understanding and experience with the implementation of company policies/procedures and compliance with applicable regulations and natural gas-related codes pertinent to the position (i.e. DOT, OSHA, FERC, OQ, environmental, etc.). </li><li>Understanding of budgeting (capital and O and M) and purchasing (material procurement, service and equipment contracting, etc.) processes. </li><li>Ability to effectively supervise a diverse work group. </li><li>Proven planning, organizational and prioritization skills. </li><li>Ability to communicate across a broad range of disciplines to develop rapport, synergies and effective relationships. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in the use of logical problem analysis to facilitate the development of solutions and options to resolve problems. </li><li>Proficiency in the compilation and evaluation of records, reports and drawings in written and database systems (i.e. engineering schematics, inspection databases, budget reports, financial accounting systems). </li><li>Ability to effectively utilize a personal computer and the associated programs, systems and databases. </li><li>Prior supervisory experience in a related operations or technical field preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licenses or Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license with safe driving record. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Cold - 26-50% </li><li>Office Work Environment - 51-75% </li><li>Outdoors - 26-50% </li><li>Travel - 26-50% </li><li>Heat - 26-50% </li></ul> <p>Other Working Conditions</p> <p>May require additional hours, holiday and/or weekend work for project completion or to meet deadlines.</p> <p>Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):</p> <p>Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.</p> <p>Mental Requirements (Include but are not limited to):</p> <p>Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.</p> <p>Due to our ongoing integration with Dominion Energy, certain positions may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
