<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>Please see the update regarding the Statement of Qualifications question that has been added.</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Director, the incumbent serves as a member of the clerical support services unit by operating general purpose computers and using word processing related software in the production of a variety of typed copy for diagnostic reports, training materials and correspondence, and performs various duties.</p> <p>The Office Technician enters new student assessment referral applications into the DCN database for all student related referral and service data. Receives student charts (binders) from Assessment Review Team (ARC) and inputs information into the student database from the ARC sheet; creates staff assignment sheet; notifies staff of assignment via email; emails staff that notification is complete and revises information accordingly (per assessment team request); mails and files all acceptance/confirmation/denial/ cancellation letters to parents and district; serves as a contact person for LEAs, families, and all parties regarding scheduling/ notifying/confirming/revising parent conference dates and locations.</p> <p>The Office Technician enters all confidential student information into DCN's assessment database, for the purpose of tracking, monitoring, storing and accountability. On occasion, emails parent authorization letter for signature. Sends overnight stayers a packet or center packet to parent. Notifies support, Assistant Director, Director, Office Supervisor, and custodian of apartment stay. Prints copies of "Center or Blended Assessment Schedule" for overnight stay.</p> <p>You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>This position requires long periods of time sitting in front of a computer workstation; repetitive use of hands, forearms, and fingers to operate computers, mouse, dual computer monitors, printers, and copiers. Work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. This position may be kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching overhead/above shoulder level, sitting. The DCN is one of three regional assessment centers operated by the State Special Schools and Services Division of the California Department of Education. The Centers provide assessment, training, and technical assistance to all Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in California.
