This position may include assignment to a classroom or to support a child with special needs one-on-one throughout the preschool day. The Instructional Assistant will contribute to the safe and effective classroom operation. They will follow all safety related practices and provide active supervision of students. They will assist in planning, directing and implementing the curriculum and help maintain records to document compliance with program rules and standards.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Hold an education aide permit with 'ESEA' designation from Ohio Department of Education or ability to obtain; permit requires one of the following per Administrative Code: 3301-2405(l):</p> </li></ul> <p>o Complete the examination for paraprofessionals prescribed by the state board of education; or</p> <p>o An associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or</p> <p>o At least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher learning (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).</p> <ul> <li> <p>A.A. in Early Childhood, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience working with preschool children preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness and ability to work as a team member.</p> </li><li> <p>Interest in working with children with disabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Good organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and program administrators.</p> </li><li> <p>History of good job attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable disease.</p> </li></ul> <p>For the full job description, click here.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board.
