<p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Intermediate-Level IBM MQ Administrator</p> <p>Role Overview:</p> <p>At the intermediate level, an IBM MQ administrator should be proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM MQ across multiple environments, including high-availability (HA) and clustering.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Technical Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Configuration - Managing distributed queue managers, advanced channel configurations, and multi-instance queue managers. </li><li>High Availability & Clustering - Setting up and managing HA environments, queue manager clusters, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies. </li><li>Advanced Security - Implementing SSL/TLS encryption, OAM security policies, and integrating LDAP for authentication. </li><li>Performance Tuning - Optimizing queue manager and channel configurations for high throughput and low latency. </li><li>Integration & Automation - Developing scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automated monitoring and maintenance. </li><li>Advanced Troubleshooting - Diagnosing complex messaging failures, dead-letter queues, and performance bottlenecks using tools like dmpmqmsg, strmqtrc, dspmqtrc. </li><li>Application Support & Development Knowledge - Understanding how applications interact with IBM MQ, including JMS and REST API. </li><li>Monitoring & Alerting - Using IBM MQ monitoring tools (IBM MQ Explorer, Prometheus, Splunk, or Nagios) to track queue performance and generate alerts. </li></ul>
