Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.</p> <p>The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Electrophysiology (EP)/Cardiac Device Lab supports patients and physicians in the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute's outpatient department. This role provides specialized nursing care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias and implantable cardiac devices in ambulatory and inpatient settings.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform telephone triage and call rotations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Educate patients and families.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform interrogation, interpretation, and programming of implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, S-ICDs, and implantable loop recorders.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor device function and patient status; promptly escalate urgent or abnormal findings to providers.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to patient care decisions within scope of practice, using established standards, protocols, and clinical data.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with electrophysiologists and the care team to support safe, efficient patient care.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing</p> </li><li> <p>Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or willing to obtain with six months of employment</p> </li><li> <p>One year of recent experience as an RN</p> </li><li> <p>OR Licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Two years of recent cardiac RN experience</p> </li><li> <p>Cardiac experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.</p> </li><li> <p>Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $35.50</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $55.60</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).</p>
