<p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$39,819.00 - $41,008.50</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$20.42 - $21.03</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Culture & Recreation, Recreation</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Recreation Facility Operations</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>This role will coordinate activities of paid and volunteer recreation service personnel in community centers, playgrounds, and other recreation facilities.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develops and promotes recreation programs, including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation and games, and camping.</p> </li><li> <p>Adapts recreation programs to meet needs of the department and the community.</p> </li><li> <p>Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Interprets recreation service to public and participates in community meetings and organizational planning.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with other recreation personnel to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated, and integrated.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Two years of related experience and/or training </li><li>High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Valid state issued driver's license </li><li>CPR certification </li><li>First Aid certification preferred </li><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Park and Recreation (CPRP) Professional </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
