<p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Requires a high level of public contact and excellent interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Interviews patients or responsible party to obtain personal, demographic, insurance, and medical information prior to services. Enters accurate patient information into the electronic health record and scans identification and insurance cards into system. Maintains confidentiality of patient information and complies with HIPAA regulations.</p> <p>Understands insurance and compliance requirements and obtains necessary signatures on appropriate forms and documents as required.</p> <p>Verifies and correctly assigns insurance coverages based on eligibility responses. Demonstrates ability to explains plan benefits, authorization status, and medical necessity.</p> <p>Creates a transparent financial experience including generation of preservice estimate, explains patient liability, and collects prepayments and/or outstanding balances.</p> <p>Monitors and resolves registration-related errors in assigned Patient work queues.</p> <p>Correctly transcribes and validates orders, as well as schedules walk-in appointments.</p> <p>Advocates for patient engagement, including activation of MyChart.</p> <p>Monitors environment and attends to patients, families and visitors needs in an effort to create a positive, expeditious registration experience.</p> <p>Assists with wayfinding and connecting patient to care.</p> <p>Performs all other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Demonstrates proficient interpersonal and communication skills</p> <p>Basic data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office products</p> <p>Familiarity with medical terminology preferred</p> <p>Prior healthcare experience preferred</p> <p>Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses.
