We strongly encourage members of underrepresented communities to apply to join our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>MassBay Community College is seeking a part-time Humanities faculty member to join the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. This position includes teaching Critical Thinking, a general education requirement for all degree seeking students in person on the Wellesley, Framingham, and Ashland campuses.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period of time. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.</p> <p>Faculty are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay Community College, and, if applicable, accreditation, licensure, and specialty requirements, and for maintaining current expertise in the discipline.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach in-person Critical Thinking courses on Wellesley Hills, Framingham, or Ashland campuses, as assigned;</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course and program requirements and student learning outcomes for Graduation Competencies as appropriate;</p> </li><li> <p>Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and the classroom.</p> </li></ul> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive.
