<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Allied Health & Wellness Department at Onondaga Community College seeks adjunct instructors qualified to teach Health Information Technology. This position requires day and/or evening availability and teaching face-to-face classes on campus.</p> <p>Major responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and present lectures; </li><li>Meet with students as needed to answer questions; </li><li>Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner; </li><li>Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams; </li><li>Compute grades and submit them on time. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's in health information management or a closely related field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency </li><li>Active RHIA credential </li><li>3 years' experience in the field or closely related field. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in health information management or a closely related field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) </li><li>Experience with electronic health records </li><li>Experience teaching at the college level preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated connections with local industries </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment. </li><li>Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li>To be considered, please submit a resume and cover letter at time of application, including availability to teach. </li><li>The three (3) references listed on the application must be professional references, and one of those must be a current or previous supervisor.
