<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Accountable for interviewing the incoming patient or patient representative, recording the information required for admission, and assigning the patient to an available room.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Differentiate between patients in need of immediate medical attention and those with minor injuries/illness. • Interview patients to secure and verify all pertinent admitting data. • Enter patient data into CAMC's Central Computer System. • Prepare the necessary forms in order for patients to receive diagnostic and/or therapeutic treatment. • Assign beds based on the nature of the illness or the type of accommodation available. • Sort, file, and distribute patient records. Prepare and disburse admitting forms and related materials. • Perform clerical and receptionist duties as necessary. Escort patients and push wheelchairs. Maintain a patient census log and prepare a statistical report monthly. • Maintain equipment, lift boxes of supplies-printer paper. • Notify the Police or Health Department for the patient as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ol> <li>Maintain and document all applicable required education. 2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. 3. Comply with the company's attendance policy. 4. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution. 5. Perform work in a cost effective manner. 6. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9.
