View more information about our Equity Initiative here.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Active PA Special Education PK-4 or PK-12 certification is required.</p> <p>Elementary certification preferred.</p> <p>Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. This position will be a K-1 Learning Support Special Education Teacher. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. </li><li>Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with students' individual needs. </li><li>Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations/modifications. </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely records including progress monitoring, assessments, and communication logs. </li><li>Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and co-teaching models. </li><li>Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed. </li><li>Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and educational planning. </li><li>Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations related to special education. </li><li>Implement positive behavior support plans and classroom management strategies. </li><li>Use assistive technology and other tools to support student learning and accessibility. </li><li>Engage in professional development to remain current with best practices and legal requirements. </li></ul> <p>This list of responsibilities in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. The candidate will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties requested by the supervisor of the position.</p> <p>Terms of employment:</p> <p>Long Term Substitute position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
