<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>The Eligibility Division is tasked with the daily preparing and processing of a substantial volume of OIDD eligibility notification determinations across various categories. This position supports that function by:</p> <ul> <li>Preparing and distributing eligibility notification letters, which includes: Eligible Letters, Not Eligible Letters, Undetermined/Withdrawn Letters, ASD Wait List Letters, and any applicable inserts. </li><li>Reviewing information provided for notification letters for accuracy and edit if necessary. </li><li>Uploading notification letters to Therap. </li><li>Mailing notification letters and applicable information. </li><li>Completing yearly training. </li><li>Completing other duties as assigned and participating as a team member. </li></ul> <p>BHDD-OIDD is a part of the state's behavioral health and developmental disabilities agency, providing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions and substance use disorders through a wholistic, streamlined and coordinated approach. OIDD assists in the planning, developing, coordinating, and funding services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of intellectual disability and related disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury and similar disability.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A high school diploma and at least four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative clerical work experience related to administrative support. A Bachelor's degree and related work experience may be substituted for four (4) years of progressively responsible clerical work experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Effective oral and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including TEAMs and current office management practices; knowledge of Excel and Word preferred. Knowledge of grammatical rules, clerical formats and/or journalistic principles required. Must possess excellent organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills. Must understand and follow HIPAA compliance guidelines. Ability to communicate and work professionally and effectively with co-workers, the agency and the public.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Employment Contingency: Employment is contingent upon our receipt of the following required pre-employment screenings: medical screening - to include a drug screening; background record checks (to include fingerprinting), South Carolina Department of Social Services' Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry screening, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General "List of Excluded Individuals/Entities" screening; South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record check; and a review of transcripts verifying educational credentials. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.</p> <p>State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.</p> <p>Employee Referral: The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities supports a Referral Incentive Reward and a Retention Bonus program.
