If you're ready to make an impact and join a community where you can grow, belong, and thrive, we encourage you to apply today and help shape the future of Westerra!</p> <p>What is the role?</p> <p>The Assistant Branch Manager is a relationship-driven frontline leader, responsible for partnering with the Branch Manager to maintain a positive, highly motivated, and well-trained branch that provides superior member service and promotes member financial success. This role is committed to upholding a strong and engaged culture, through effective coaching, leadership, proactive problem-solving, and networking. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining the operational and consultative sales performance of their assigned branch, positive member interactions, while driving the Westerra Experience (WX) and ensuring member solutions are identified with the member's best interest in mind.</p> <p>What will be expected of me?</p> <ul> <li>Integrates the Westerra Experience (WX) into the daily branch activities, focusing on building relationships and creating an exceptional experience for both members and employees. </li><li>Leads with positive intent, leveraging a proactive approach to problem-solving member and employee needs. </li><li>Partners with Branch Manager to create branch and role specific goals. </li><li>Drives a high-performance culture, by translating business plan goals into execution within the branch. </li><li>Actively engages branch team through a standardized meeting rhythm, including regular 1:1 coaching, team meetings, and recognition. Implements effective communications strategies, ensuring branch staff are informed and have the knowledge and support to effectively execute in their roles. </li><li>Coaches branch team on Westerra's Member's Best Interest (MBI) Solutions approach through effective observations, role-playing, and feedback loops. </li><li>Partners with branch leadership and Business Intelligence to monitor quality of service and sales for members through data analysis, and turns insight into action. </li><li>Leads formalized engagement action-planning conversations with branch team, focusing on maintaining and increasing employee engagement. </li><li>Partners with Branch Manager and Talent Acquisition to interview and assist in the selection candidates for the branch network. Ensures a rich onboarding experience for new hires. </li><li>Ensures branch operations run efficiently by overseeing and monitoring scheduling, security, cash and vault management, expenses and general ledgers, equipment, adherence to policies and procedures, service quality, and audits. </li><li>Through servant leadership, ensure branch needs are met by stepping in as a USR 1, 2, or 3, or other operational positions, as needed. </li><li>Maintains knowledge on industry trends and ensures credit union compliance. </li><li>Consistently demonstrates the Westerra Way Experience and complies with all policies, procedures, and regulations. </li><li>Assists Branch Manager developing staff for current and long-terms department needs and opportunities. </li><li>Obtains NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) registration within 30 days of hire </li><li>Obtains and maintains notary public certification within six months of employment (if not already certified) to perform notarial acts such as verifying signatures, administering oaths, and certifying documents </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Will I have Direct Reports? No</p> <p>What am I bringing?</p> <p>Experience/Education:</p> <ul> <li>4+ years of relevant work experience </li><li>Minimum 1 year sales and customer service experience (preferably in financial services) </li><li>2 years teller/operations experience (preferred) </li><li>1 year Supervisory experience (preferred) </li><li>1 year consumer lending experience (preferred) </li><li>High School Diploma or GED is required </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong operational skills </li><li>Sales and Service Focused </li><li>Member/Customer Focused </li><li>Coaching and training abilities </li><li>Results Oriented </li><li>Problem solving </li><li>Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Accountable for completion of assigned processes or programs </li><li>Acts autonomously on most decisions, but may require guidance on more complex judgments </li><li>Advanced understanding of business line and a growing understanding of the overall organization and the competitive environment. </li><li>Able to influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiates with department </li></ul> <p>What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?</p> <ul> <li>Mon-Fri: On location in the branch (Saturdays on rotation) </li><li>Occasionally: Off-site at business development or community events; may require weekend and/or evening shifts offset by branch schedule </li><li>Office environment </li><li>Ability to lift 25 pounds </li></ul> <p>Salary: in addition to the starting hourly rate of $21.72 - $27, this role is also eligible for Westerra's self-funding reward plan.
