VOA services include housing and emergency shelters, hunger and nutrition services, and many other community support programs. VOA integrates compassion with highly effective programs that build and strengthen communities.</p> <p>Note: 30-50% of the job expectations will include travel.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Intake and Outreach Specialist assists human service programs in meeting the needs of persons seeking assistance in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. Conducts initial assessment functions, screening for eligibility and making appropriate referrals for callers and walk-ins. Acts as a knowledgeable liaison to community agencies and is responsible for promoting awareness of the assigned program. Provides follow-up to clients as assigned and maintains positive interactions with community stakeholders.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Receives and assesses calls for service and conducts intake process: screening households for eligibility, collecting relevant documentation, and supporting SSVF program staff throughout the enrollment process. </li><li>Refers ineligible applicants to other organizations/programs which would best serve the applicant's needs. </li><li>Maintains and updates a database of active community supports for the purpose of linking low-income and/or homeless veteran households with available community resources. </li><li>Acts as a community liaison for Volunteers of America, maintaining a caseload of community partner contacts and cultivating relationships with these contacts via phone calls, emails, meetings, site visits, and presentations throughout the year. </li><li>Connects SSVF with new community partners for the purpose of offering supportive services to veteran households </li><li>Conducts street outreach to inform eligible clients of services provided and conducts off-site screening with clients when needed </li><li>Utilizes the models of Trauma-Informed Care and Housing First to guide engagement with existing and/or potential SSVF program participants. </li><li>Attends community events and meetings as a representative of Volunteers of America. </li><li>Provides administrative and programmatic support services for client service teams. </li><li>Documents all outreach and eligibility screening activities through paper and electronic logs. </li><li>Collects pertinent statistics and prepares reports as required by the supervisor and according to funding source guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Benefit eligibility is based on job type/status</p> <p>Paid Holidays</p> <p>Paid Time Off</p> <p>Volunteer/Wellness Day</p> <p>Tuition Assistance</p> <p>Pension and 403b Retirement Plan</p> <p>Health, Dental, Vision, Pet Insurance</p> <p>Life Insurance (Including Accidental Death & Dismemberment)</p> <p>Accident Insurance</p> <p>Employee Assistance/Work-Life Balance Program</p> <p>Employee Discount Program</p> <p>LifeLock with Norton</p> <p>Public Loan Forgiveness</p> <p>Volunteers of America is an EEO Employer</p> <p>Position will remain open until filled</p> <p>VISA Sponsorship is not offered for this role</p> <p>Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply</p> <p>Employee must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of self or others. If you require a reasonable accommodation to perform this role, please contact HR@VOAColorado.org to begin the Interactive Process.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in communication, human services, administration, or related fields. </li><li>Must possess a Colorado driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance. </li><li>Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available). </li><li>Must complete agency and program credentialing within 12 weeks of hire and maintain credentialing standards thereafter. </li><li>Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with the following: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); communication and collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Teams); digital calendars (Google, Outlook); file-sharing programs (Dropbox, Google Drive); and project management software (Asana) </li><li>Proficient with Windows operating system. </li></ul> <p>Position Type/Hours</p> <p>M-F 8 AM -5 PM</p> <p>Position Salary Range:</p> <p>$21.00/hr</p>
