<p>Provides basic security and protection of persons and University buildings within the University community, including fire safety and emergency response. Reports to the Public Safety Supervisor.</p> <ul> <li>Serves as first responder to calls-for-service from students, faculty, staff and visitors concerning criminal or civil complaints, maintenance problems, safety situations, alarms sounding, etc. </li><li>Provides access control for buildings and other properties. </li><li>Handles special event details, money pick-ups, etc. </li><li>Enforces parking regulations and provides traffic direction/control. </li><li>Provides crime prevention foot patrols; inspects University property for safety hazards and reports identified hazards by way of incident report and/or University work order. </li><li>Provides personal escorts; responds to inquiries and requests for information. </li><li>Documents relevant incidents in the Public Safety report writing system. </li><li>Coordinates with local police and emergency medical services regarding response on campus. </li><li>Immediately notify Public Safety supervisory personnel of campus incidents and/or presence of law enforcement, fire or emergency medical services on campus. </li><li>Accurate written documentation of campus incidents </li><li>Maintain training as Campus Security Authority (CSA) as it relates to the Clery Act. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by Director of Public Safety or designee. </li></ul>
