<p>The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to use Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for the oncology adult and geriatric inpatient populations.</p> <ul> <li>Provides quality patient care including nutrition screening, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and documentation of patient care plan appropriate for patient. </li><li>Educates students with on-the-job training. </li><li>Evaluates students </li><li>Provides students with necessary support and assistance to ensure work is completed. </li><li>Assesses nutrition status and instructs/counsels' patient on appropriate diet. </li><li>Participate as part of the medical team concerning problems affecting patients' food habits and needs and participate in health team rounds concerning patient care. </li><li>Assist in the implementation of studies and short-term projects. </li><li>Performs special projects as assigned. </li><li>Participates as active member of departmental/hospital committees. </li><li>Review and analyze production, maintenance of standards, costs and personnel utilization records to evaluate progress of work and to control or reduce costs. </li><li>Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. </li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary teams and develops nutritional components of care. </li><li>Assists other dietitians as needed. </li></ul> <p>University of Iowa Health Care-recognized as one of the best hospitals in the United States-is Iowa's only comprehensive academic medical center and a regional referral center. Please address the specific position for which you which to be considered in your application.</p> <p>Percent of Time: 100%</p> <p>Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm</p> <p>Pay Grade:</p> <p>Dietitian I: 5 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-plan</p> <p>Dietitian II: 7 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-plan</p> <p>Salary: $57,000 - Commensurate</p> <p>Benefits Highlights:</p> <ul> <li>Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa </li><li>Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans </li><li>For more information about Why Iowa?, click here </li></ul> <p>Dietitian I Minimum Eligibility Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Candidates registered prior to January 1, 2024, a bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics is required. </li><li>Licensure by the State of Iowa is required. </li><li>Registration by the Commission of Dietetic Registration is required. </li><li>Excellent written and communication skills are required. </li></ul> <p>Dietitian II Minimum Eligibility Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required </li><li>Licensure by the State of Iowa is required. </li><li>Reasonable (5 years) clinical nutrition experience is required </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Experience in making enteral and parental recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas </li><li>Demonstrate competency of patient care in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting. </li></ul> <p>Application Process: In order to be considered, applicants must upload a resume and cover letter (under submission relevant materials) that clearly address how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.</p> <p>Job openings are posted for a minimum of 14 calendar days.
