<p>Description</p> <p>Clinical Research Physician Assistant</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Department: Clinical Research</p> <p>Reports to Medical Director of Research</p> <p>Location: Arkansas Urology</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION</p> <p>The Clinical Research Physician Assistant (PA) supports clinical research activities while providing patient care under physician supervision. This role bridges clinical practice and research, requiring expertise in both patient management and research methodology. This position requires close collaboration with physician investigators to ensure safe and compliant investigational treatment or intervention and follow-up per the established research protocol. Critical thinking, self-motivation and direction, as well as autonomy are critical to the daily tasks that are carried out in partnership with the physician investigators and other members of the research team. Clinical skills that may be required include but are not limited to: patient assessment for adverse events and assistance with, or completion of, study related procedures as detailed in the research protocol (ex: injections, phlebotomy, or infusions), within the applicable state scope of practice.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assist principal investigators in conducting clinical research studies and trials </li><li>Screen and recruit eligible participants according to study protocols </li><li>Perform clinical assessments, procedures, and data collection for research subjects </li><li>Document patient encounters and research observations with precision and accuracy </li><li>Administer study medications and treatments per established protocols </li><li>Monitor patients for adverse events and manage/report them appropriately </li><li>Coordinate with research team members, including physicians, nurses, and study coordinators </li><li>Ensure compliance with research protocols and regulatory requirements </li><li>Maintain accurate and complete research records </li><li>Participate in research team meetings and contribute to protocol discussions </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program</p> <p>CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to utilize common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.</p> <p>SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED</p> <p>Proficiency with electronic medical records and research databases</p> <p>INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY</p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</p> <p>Under direction where a definite objective is set up and the employee plans and arranges own work.</p> <p>PLANNING</p> <p>Considerable responsibility regarding general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work; may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others</p> <p>DECISION MAKING</p> <p>Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making.</p> <p>ACCOUNTABILITY</p> <p>FREEDOM TO ACT</p> <p>Moderately directed. Freedom to act is given by upper level management guided by general policies and objectives that are reviewed by top management.</p> <p>IMPACT ON END RESULTS</p> <p>Modest impact. Job has some impact on the organizations end results, but still from an indirect level. Provides assistance and support services that facilitates decision making by others.</p> <p>EMPLOYEE CONTACT</p> <p>Contacts with other departments or offices and also frequently with individuals in middle level positions; consulting on problems which necessitate judgment and tact in presentation to obtain cooperation or approval of action to be taken.</p> <p>USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS</p> <p>Regular use of machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a moderate noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.</p> <p>ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS</p> <p>The following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
