<p>THE JOB / Trainee, Hospitality</p> <p>EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.</p> <p>We are looking for a Trainee to join our hospitality team to support partnerships and activations across a series of events! The Trainee will assist with on-site event execution of various event management duties and day-to-day activities at each event. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with various internal teams, client partners & vendors, and consumers. Strong team dynamic skills, excellent organizational skills, and exceptional interpersonal & communication skills are required in the role. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn account management, best practices for hospitality and event management, vendor management, client engagement, and on-site logistics & event activation skills.</p> <p>THE WORK YOU'LL DO</p> <ul> <li>Support event programming between July 19th-September 12th </li><li>Assist with onsite event preparation, operations, and execution </li><li>Collaborate with staff and on-site vendors </li><li>Assist attendees with pre-registration and onsite registration </li><li>Manage distribution of event ticketing </li><li>Help prepare documents ahead of the event, such as gifting and shipping trackers, welcome packets, and run of show </li><li>Help plan and implement off-site events </li><li>Participate in daily event set-up and breakdown </li><li>Represent and communicate aspects of the brand to patrons of the event </li></ul> <p>THE BIGGER TEAM YOU'LL JOIN</p> <p>Recognized as one of the "Best Places to Work in Sports", Octagon is the global sports, entertainment, and experiential marketing arm of the Interpublic Group.</p> <p>We take pride in being Playmakers - finding insightful, bold ways to create play in our work, our lives, and in the world. Are you a Playmaker?</p> <p>WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR</p> <ul> <li>A passion for sports, entertainment, event management, and/or hospitality </li><li>Previous event or marketing experience a strong plus </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1+ years of relevant experience </li><li>A strong attention to detail and interest in hosting events and guest experiences </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and produce quality work within strict timelines </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team </li><li>Proactive in solving problems simultaneously effectively and independently, taking initiative with minimal supervision </li><li>A "whatever it takes to get the job done" approach </li><li>Superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication (both oral and written) skills </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word) </li><li>Valid US driver's license with clean driving history </li><li>Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed.
