The Web team is a fast-paced and fast-growing team that shares knowledge and code for initiatives that span Web such as commerce, marketing, media, and infrastructure!</p> <p>We are seeking individuals with a passion for learning and developing the future of streaming services on the web. As a member on Disney's Identity Client team you'll build the core login, registration and user management experiences of our Web platform</p> <p>As a Lead Software Engineer you serve as a high-level technical resource and "go-to" person, solving sophisticated technical challenges and finding opportunities to improve systems, products, and services.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collaborates closely with engineering and product teams to define and distill product requirements into design and technical specifications, projects, or fixes that scale and perform. </li><li>Leads by example to write, maintain, follow and enforce code quality through test driven development. </li><li>Contributes to core fundamental software project needs and the evolution of the team's practices; recommending changes in development, coding, maintenance and system standards. </li><li>Efficiently supports software throughout the lifecycle. Performs technical maintenance and fixing for components while maintaining clear documentation. </li><li>Applies experiences and exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques to identify, resolve, and develop solutions to a variety of complex tasks involving architectural application changes. </li><li>Supports and mentors developers through code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical leadership. </li><li>Drive the development and organization of complex features touching many different teams to meet business deliverables and needs in a timely manner. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>7+ years' experience building highly scalable and performant production level web applications. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to architect complex technical changes, to knowledge-share, and get buy-in for their solutions. Or 5+ years with a Masters degree. </li><li>BS degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent 13 years' work experience. </li><li>Writes well-documented, clear, and robust code. </li><li>Experience working within a modern JavaScript/Typescript application. </li><li>Proven ability to integrate with third party systems (ex: APIs, SDKs, etc.). </li><li>Highly diligent with the ability to see projects from beginning to end; designing workflows and executing tasks. </li><li>Quickly learn, understand, and adapt to new technologies; identifying root causes and driving solutions to highly sophisticated problems. </li><li>Exhibits emotional intelligence, supervising oneself under high pressure situations and meets urgent timelines. </li><li>Ability to support and mentor other developers by building trust, identifying goals, encouraging, instructing, and providing constructive feedback. </li><li>Optimally collaborates and communicates with team members and multi-functional partners, engaging technical topics with clarity. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience shipping a production React/Node.js application </li><li>Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) </li><li>Experience working with Agile methodologies </li><li>Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals </li></ul> <p>The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Glendale, CA is $152,200 to $204,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
