<p>Description:</p> <p>The Mold Maker Apprentice assists in the construction, repair, and maintenance of molds used in manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding or die casting. This entry-level role combines hands-on shop work with structured on-the-job training to develop skills in machining, blueprint reading, mold assembly, and precision measurement.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and fitting of molds and mold components </li><li>Operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM) under supervision </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications </li><li>Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) </li><li>Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble molds </li><li>Support troubleshooting of mold issues in production </li><li>Maintain organized and safe work areas </li><li>Follow company safety procedures and quality standards </li><li>Participate in classroom training or apprenticeship coursework (if applicable) </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Basic math skills (algebra, geometry, measurements) </li><li>Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing </li><li>Ability to read technical drawings (preferred but not required) </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Willingness to learn and take direction </li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs </li></ul> <p>Term:</p> <ul> <li>The term of the apprenticeship will be four years of on-the-job-learning with an attainment of 8,000 hours supplemented by the required hours of related instruction. </li></ul> <p>Shift Hours:</p> <ul> <li>6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Collaborative atmosphere where communication and teamwork are essential to meeting goals. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift 50 pounds and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. </li></ul>
