The MLS participates in the educational and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees and students and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.</p> <p>Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician Position Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology. </li></ul> <p>Or in lieu of:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certified through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science.</p> </li><li> <p>An Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with a minimum of two years of applicable experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required License/Certification</p> <ul> <li>American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Previous laboratory experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li> <p>The Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.</p> </li><li> <p>Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts.
