<p>Basic Function</p> <p>The Associate Director provides support to DU Cares, the university's nonclinical case management program. The DU Cares team and Associate Director aim to support student academic and social development; promote the effective use of campus resources; facilitate academic engagement; address disruptions to students' academic and social stability; and manage situations causing distress in our community. This position implements leave and return policies, supports students during transitions away or back to the community, and interprets policies that govern student success.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <p>Provide non-clinical case management services for high-risk/acute, medium and long-term student situations, including short and long-term planning with students, coordination of care, and effective referrals to campus and community resources.</p> <p>Partner across the university to provide support and advocacy for students who may be experiencing barriers to their success.</p> <p>Implement and adhere to case management standards and protocols and maintain contemporaneous and high-quality documentation in applicable database systems.</p> <p>Serve as an active member of the CARE team; present student situations, prepare reports, and conduct outreach on behalf of the committee.</p> <p>Facilitate withdrawals and returns using the following policies: medical withdrawal, hardship withdrawal, leave of absence, general withdrawal.</p> <p>Participate in outreach to students, faculty, and staff to help students acquire knowledge and skills which will enhance their ability to function effectively in the university community and help stakeholders acquire knowledge and skills to better identify and support students in distress and experiencing crisis situations.</p> <p>Create and implement trainings and communication initiatives that informs and educates the community about DU Cares, responding to students in distress, campus and community resources, and increases awareness and capacity to understand the psychosocial, economic and basic needs of students.</p> <p>Routinely serve in an on-call capacity, being available for consultation and responding in-person to emergencies when needed.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree.</p> <p>Three years of professional, full-time work experience in student affairs or student services. Demonstrated proficiency in assisting students in crisis and/or who need high levels of support.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, social work, psychology, counseling, education, or related fields.</p> <p>Experiencing serving in an on-call capacity. Experience serving on multidisciplinary student support teams.</p>
