<p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Helps or carry out lesson plans, modify instructional materials based upon the directions provided by the vocational or general education teacher. </li><li>Uses strategies, equipment, materials, and technologies, as directed by accommodation plans to accomplish instructional objectives. </li><li>Assists in adapting and implementing instructional strategies and materials as directed by the Individualized Learning Plan. </li><li>Uses strategies as directed to facilitate effective integration into various settings. </li><li>Uses strategies that promote the learner's independence, as directed. </li><li>Follows instructions of vocational teacher, general education teacher, and administrators and supervisors. </li><li>Acts as a role model for students. </li><li>Demonstrates commitment to assisting learners in achieving their highest potential. </li><li>Has working knowledge of ethical practices for confidential communication about individuals with exceptional learning needs. </li><li>Keeps documented records of successful strategies and milestones to be shared with vocational education teacher. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Cosmetology license or trade experience. </li><li>Minimum of an Associates' degree or High School diploma and relevant industry experience. </li><li>Prior experience as a teacher or paraprofessional, strongly preferred. </li><li>Strong work ethic, positive attitude, a genuine interest in working with young people in a rich multicultural environment. </li><li>Ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced setting. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and records. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Full time, school year (10 months), 37.5 hours a week</p>
