<p>The position is located at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.</p> <p>Major duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>The Electrician is a key position in maintaining safe and uninterrupted power and electrical operations of the facility, which is very complex, potentially dangerous and critically needed resources of the Medical Center.</p> <p>The Electrician works under the general supervision of the Electric Shop Supervisor, using work orders, verbal instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, repair manuals, etc. Works in a variety of controlled environments such as research and development laboratories where the electrician will fabricate, install, modify, and troubleshoot specialized electrical control or monitoring systems and equipment designed to meet unique conditions associated with research and development projects.</p> <p>Incumbent is responsible for inspection, testing, and maintaining accurate records of various electrical systems on the medical center campus to include, but not limited to campus wide generator system, individual generators, lighting, automatic transfer switches, emergency exit lighting, fuel pump systems, isolation monitors, uninterruptable power system (UPS), underground storage tank, lightning protection, emergency power systems, load bank testing, circuits, breakers, panels, controls, elevators, and equipment. Ensures work is being documented; work orders are completed in a proper, satisfactory, and timely manner.</p> <p>Incumbent shall inspect, locate and diagnose trouble and perform maintenance service and repairs to electrical wiring systems, circuit breaker panels, automatic and manual fire alarm systems, automatic door systems, nurse call systems, emergency alarm systems, lighting systems, clocks, thermostats, heating equipment, light fixtures, LED lighting systems and controls, UPS, motors and motor control systems, fans, shop equipment, and electrically powered equipment.</p> <p>Performs all duties as assigned.</p> <p>Work Schedule: M-F (8am - 4:30pm)</p> <p>Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized</p>
