<p>Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Lead</p> <p>Department: Maintenance</p> <p>Reports to: Plant Operations Manager</p> <p>Location: Dolgeville, NY</p> <p>FLSA Status: Hourly</p> <p>General Overview: Manufacturing Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the safety, quality, and production of performing overall maintenance on all production machinery including preventive maintenance and trouble-shooting, setting up machinery, and sharpening knives to produce the finest sporting good products while working in a safe organized environment in the Maintenance Department.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Follow and ensure department employees follows all safety, quality, and manufacturing processes and procedures. </li><li>Schedule and prioritize maintenance projects to be completed by department on a daily basis. </li><li>Communicate with outside vendors for tooling, spare parts, repairs, and equipment installations, as needed. </li><li>Lead preventive maintenance program on all production machinery. </li><li>Trouble-shoot and perform overall maintenance on all production machinery. </li><li>Construct and implement improvement procedures. </li><li>Communicate production concerns as it relates to maintenance with the Production Manager </li><li>Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments. </li><li>Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. </li><li>Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. </li><li>Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. </li><li>Operate equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, plow trucks in compliance with all safety standards. </li><li>Maintain building and grounds for the Manufacturing buildings. </li><li>Program the mechanics on several machines using mathematical problem solutions. </li><li>Sharpen and change CNC knives. </li><li>Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure compliance standards are being met. </li><li>Read, understand, and follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in production supporting the manufacturing of our sporting good products. </li><li>Read, understand, and follow all product specifications and processes supporting the manufacturing of our sporting good products. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED </li><li>Two-year degree in manufacturing maintenance or three to five years of related manufacturing or machinist work experience </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. </li><li>Experience in electronics </li><li>Experience in CNC machines </li><li>Forklift experience </li><li>Welding experience </li><li>Experience programming mechanics on manufacturing machines. </li><li>Individual must have the ability to work alone or with limited supervision. </li><li>Knowledge of using hand air tools including drills, saws, and grinders. </li><li>Individual should have good communication skills to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, and vendors. </li><li>Knowledge or using hand tools including hammers, screw drivers, saws, and drills. </li><li>Knowledge of using wire feed arc welder, propane torch, hand floor jack, hydraulic pumps, and two-part resin dispensing system. </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions: Clean, organized, climate-controlled production work environment and outside conditions with extreme temperatures ranging from hot and humid to snow and freezing temperatures.</p> <p>Safety Hazards: Depending upon production department, may be exposed to dust, air borne fibers, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Work is also performed outside in extreme temperatures ranging from hot and humid to snow and freezing temperatures. Walking between buildings year-round is required. Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves, smocks, and positive pressure full-face hoods are required while performing certain tasks.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications and procedures. Must have good verbal communication skills.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to apply concepts of basic math and reading measurements (fractions and decimals)</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <p>Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to recognize a situation and escalate clearly. Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
