SDI continues to push to be the industry leader and gold standard for corporate governance.</p> <p>The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia has an immediate opening for a Production Scheduler in a high-volume steel Fabrication Department.</p> <p>This position offers excellent upward mobility potential within the Fabricating Department and companywide.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Analyze, plan, and maintain the production schedule to the machine level </li><li>Ability to multi-task </li><li>Willingness to learn is essential </li><li>Input inventory accurately in the inventory system while maintaining proper and accurate levels of product </li><li>Scheduling production for multiple fabricating operations to ensure on-time delivery to a growing customer base is required </li><li>Promote continuous cost improvement activities in cooperation with related departments as it relates to production scheduling </li><li>Ability to navigate common software programs such as Excel would be a plus </li><li>Good communication skills along with the ability to work well with team members within the department is a must </li><li>Work with sales on expected product lead times and customer requirements </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Self-motivated with the ability to handle stress and stay engaged for long periods. </li><li>Requires a high level of critical thinking and problem solving </li><li>Independent judgement needed to anticipate potential problems, analyze data, resolve problems and trends, and recommend strategy on a continuing basis in an environment where conditions are continually changing. </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Excellent communication skills (oral and written). </li><li>Proficient at Excel. </li></ul> <p>Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.</p>
