<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Group Fitness Instructor is engaged in Health First's commitments to delivering quality care and</p> <p>customer experience by servicing members' needs through orientation, education, instruction, and</p> <p>evaluation in the area of health and fitness.</p> <p>PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide safe and effective classes consistent with class descriptions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure areas are tidy, clean, and organized with oversight of members' safety and adherence to</p> </li></ol> <p>policy.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Work with leadership to add new programming and classes to enhance member experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Modify class content to accommodate various ability levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Report any customer and/or safety concerns to Pro-Health leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop music for use with appropriate class population.</p> </li><li> <p>Arrange for substitute instructors and notify coordinator of arrangements.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible to handle an emergency code in regard to American Heart Association's</p> </li></ol> <p>Heartsaver CPR & AED Program. Must be ability to handle the code alone if necessary.</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Utilize equipment in a safe and knowledgeable manner and report equipment in need of repair </li></ol> <p>or replacement.</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Provide a structured class with music utilization, motivation, and proper cueing techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Observe class participants to facilitate proper format and provide corrections for safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide excellent customer experience by answering questions related to a members' workouts.</p> </li></ol> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Education: High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Work Experience: None </li><li>Licensure: None </li><li>Certification: </li></ul> <p>o American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED OR</p> <p>American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare provider</p> <p>completion card prior to start date and maintained.</p> <p>o Group exercise certification by: Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA),</p> <p>American Council on Exercise (ACE), Les Mills, Zumba, or other approved certifying</p> <p>body.</p> <p>o Specialty certification required for: Yoga, Pilates, Group Cycling, and other approved</p> <p>specialty programming.</p> <ul> <li>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: </li></ul> <p>o Good personality and enjoy working with different populations.</p> <p>o Exceptional customer service skills.</p> <p>o Ability to perform physical demands of teaching and substituting exercise classes.</p> <p>o Demonstrate (verbally and physically) modifications for all ability levels.</p> <p>o Knowledge of aquatic exercise principles.</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Work Experience: One (1) years' experience in a wellness, fitness, or group exercise function. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. </li><li>Long periods of computer time or at workstation. </li><li>Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. </li><li>May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low </li></ul> <p>to moderate noise.</p> <ul> <li>Communicating with others to exchange information. </li><li>Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. </li><li>Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite, or remote. </li><li>May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of </li></ul> <p>personal vehicle</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>ABOUT HEALTH FIRST</p> <p>At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
