<p>Job Title: Bilingual Cemetery Operations Technician</p> <p>Location: Ogden, UT</p> <p>Job Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Reports To: Cemetery Operations Supervisor / Manager</p> <p>Language Requirement: English and Spanish</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Bilingual Cemetery Operations Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of the cemetery grounds, facilities, and interment services. This role requires effective communication in both English and Spanish to serve diverse families and collaborate with a multicultural team. The technician ensures the respectful handling of all cemetery-related duties with professionalism, sensitivity, and attention to detail. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential, as the position involves the regular operation of cemetery vehicles and equipment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform grave openings and closings, including layout, excavation, and backfilling.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep.</p> </li><li> <p>Install and align headstones, markers, and memorials per cemetery standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate and maintain tools and heavy equipment such as backhoes, trucks, and lawn equipment safely and efficiently.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with setup and teardown of funeral services, including tents, chairs, and lowering devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with grieving families, funeral directors, and clergy in a respectful and compassionate manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate or communicate procedures and information to non-English-speaking families or coworkers as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate service and maintenance records in accordance with local regulations and company policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with landscaping, groundskeeping, or construction preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate light and heavy machinery safely.</p> </li><li> <p>Physically able to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Sensitivity to working in an emotionally demanding environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 75 lbs), walking, standing, kneeling, and bending.</p> </li><li> <p>Weekend or holiday work may be required depending on burial schedules.</p> </li></ul>
