<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Quality Assurance (QA) New Model Manager is responsible for leading all quality-related activities during the launch of new products and model programs for automotive OEM customers. This role ensures flawless program execution from APQP through PPAP approval and safe launch, while maintaining compliance with in-house as well as customer-specific requirements and IATF 16949 standards.</p> <p>Position Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>New Program Quality Leadership </li><li>Lead and develop new model functional analysis teams </li><li>Facilitate Cross Functional APQP Meetings </li><li>PPAP Management </li><li>Launch and Production Readiness </li><li>Coordinate New Model Activities with Regional Office and Japan Resources </li><li>Risk Management and Problem Solving </li><li>Supervise both salaried and hourly associates </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (required). </li><li>15+ years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing. </li><li>10+ of leadership experience in automotive manufacturing </li><li>5+ years of experience managing new model launches in a Tier 1 environment. </li><li>Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans. </li><li>Experience working directly with automotive OEM customers. </li><li>Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):</p> <ul> <li>Masters Degree </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy </li><li>Proven ability to: </li><li>Promote and exemplify the "Astemo Philosophy" and "5 Joys" and maintain a clean and orderly work environment in accordance with "6S." </li><li>Confer with and prepare reports for upper management and possibly other Astemo companies </li><li>Control department or corporate budgets and approve expenditures </li><li>Ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional area </li><li>Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate personnel and provide support / training as needed </li><li>Provide strong leadership to subordinate personnel </li><li>Interact with various levels of associates </li><li>Improve manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives </li><li>Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Technical Team. </li><li>Coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility </li><li>Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization as needed </li><li>Maintain clean and orderly work environment </li><li>Analyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confer with all departments to assess the feasibility of projects </li><li>Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Will supervise associates </li></ul> <p>Software:</p> <ul> <li>Software requirements (CAD, Glovia, Excel, etc) </li></ul> <p>Essential to Job Functions - Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting </li><li>Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday </li><li>Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds </li><li>Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen </li><li>Full motor skills </li></ul> <p>Work Environment - Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.</p> <ul> <li>Open office setting </li><li>Factory setting with noise </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used</p> <ul> <li>Personal Computer </li><li>Hand tools </li><li>Multimeter and other troubleshooting devices </li></ul>
