<p>The Division of Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Physiatrist / Assistant Professor (GFT). The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide specialized patient care in the treatment of musculoskeletal medicine and of patients in the Division of Sports Medicine. </li><li>Provide on-call coverage for the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine. </li><li>Use manual techniques to prevent and treat focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation, including injuries common to specific sports. </li><li>Participate in mentoring/doctoring activities and problem-based learning sessions with the medical school. </li><li>Teach medical students, nurses, physician assistants, and residents, including supporting, providing, and attending lectures and conferences. </li><li>Be responsible for conducting research in area of expertise. </li><li>Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>New York State Medical Licensure. </li><li>Medical Doctor Degree. </li><li>Fellowship training or equivalent in Sports Medicine. </li><li>Board Certified/Board Eligible in academic sports/musculoskeletal physiatrist. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Variable Days; Variable Hours (Full-Time)</p> <p>Salary Grade/Rank:</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>Commensurate with experience and qualifications</p> <p>Executive Order:</p> <p>Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
