<p>POSITION OVERVIEW</p> <p>The Unified Assistant Coach for the fall season interscholastic athletic program will be responsible for planning and direct supervision of daily team activities. This includes in-season as well as out-of-season contact which must be within MIAA and BHS policies. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and head coach of the program.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Pre-Season:</p> <ul> <li>Attend coaches meetings (school) </li><li>Complete all necessary HR paperwork/training </li><li>Assist in monitoring registration and clearance </li><li>Check equipment inventory and make any requests to AD </li><li>Check uniform inventory </li><li>Request transportation through Athletic Dept </li><li>Read Athletic Handbook and ask AD for any clarification of policies, etc. </li><li>Attend and support planning for meet the coaches night for families </li><li>Provide first week schedule to Assistant AD </li><li>Review website for any changes </li></ul> <p>In Season:</p> <ul> <li>Set up time with Equipment Manager to distribute uniforms/equipment </li><li>Confirm eligibility of students </li><li>Plan practice sessions accordingly, communicate schedule at least 2 weeks in advance </li><li>Coordinate with Athletic Trainer for any athlete injuries and return to play </li><li>Ride bus to and from away contests - possibly drive school van </li><li>Communicate schedule and any announcements with families via weekly email update </li><li>Assist with any scheduling changes and communication of them to players/families </li><li>Keep attendance daily </li><li>Communicate any issues with AD </li></ul> <p>Post-Season:</p> <ul> <li>Set up time with Equipment Manager to collect uniforms in full </li><li>Have students complete Athletic Dept survey </li><li>Let Administrative Assistant know if any student did not return any uniform or equipment </li><li>Confirm final roster and wellness credit eligibility </li><li>Have end of season meeting with head coach </li><li>Have closeout meetings with each student </li><li>Make recommendations to AD on equipment needs for following year </li></ul> <p>Requirements Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of MIAA Rules and Policies </li><li>Concussion awareness training certification </li><li>CPR/AED certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Coaching experience or equivalent preferred </li></ul> <p>The Public Schools of Brookline is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching or practice to the diversity and excellence of the PSB community.</p> <p>The Public Schools of Brookline is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
